
There are three stages to this project which seeks to tackle perceived deficiencies in the Secondary Curriculum and in attainment. It is aimed to improve pace and challenge and heighten expectations.
Stage 1
Re-development of 5-14 Curriculum to fit into S1 only and implementation of this. (completed)
Stage 2
Standard Grades undertaken in S2/3 instead of S3/4. (begun)
Stage 3
Redevelopment of Senior Curriculum for a single S4/5/6 cohort, to offer the additionality of vocational, Higher Education, enterprise and interest based courses. (projected to begin in summer 2005)
FLaT support is provided to explore flexibility in curricular provision and whole school approaches to providing a more challenging and motivating learning experience and raising attainment and achievement levels.

To develop and implement a revised 5-14 curriculum across 16 departments.
To follow this up with the development, implementation and ongoing review of the new first year course, plus subsequent refinement of Standard Grade courses as necessary.
To implement Standard Grade courses in S2 and S3.
To offer a wider range of courses in the Senior School which better meets the needs of all pupils no matter how great the differences in aptitude and interest.

Raise attainment and achievement levels through developing more motivated learners and a more challenging learning experience.
Produce more and better student information linked to a new computerised system of tracking and monitoring pupil attainment, which will be developed and integrated with assessment, recording and reporting systems.
Share its experiences with other Moray schools, and with any interested Authorities/schools outwith Moray.

Stage 1 of project received support of £17,400 plus evaluation costs through FLaT Programme. Stages 2 & 3 of the project will receive funding of £174,000 plus evaluation costs.
